Excited for my upcoming Stockpile Drive!

I love to help out local agencies 🙂  That’s why I’ve teamed up with another blogger, Saving for a Purpose, and a consignment store, Duck Duck Goose Children’s Resale, to hold a stockpile drive.  These ladies are a few of my favorites and we always have a great time planning and executing these events.

This month we are giving the donations to ELCA Urban Outreach Center and Shalom Center of the Interfaith Network of Kenosha. If you are local, check out the event on Facebook and come join us!

If you are unfamiliar with an event like this, it’s a lot of fun!  We have people bring in donations of items they have at home or go out and purchase for the event. The original event was geared at couponers since they would have a stash of items at home already.  But we have found that even people that don’t use coupons bring things in to donate!  We have items that are up for raffle that are donated by local businesses/vendors.  People can get raffle tickets for donating items or they can purchase them and the money is given to the agency we have chosen for the month.

We do these events on what is called “Second Saturday” in Kenosha because there are a lot of fun things going on in the downtown area.  Many of the stores have specials or fun contests.  This month there is a Pop Up Art Gallery, an Edgar Allen Poe Readings and Spooky Raven Make and Take Crafts.  The street will be closed to cars and there will be vendors outside the stores.

Here we are with many of the items donated from last time we held a stockpile drive in May.

Do you have events like this where you live?
